The workshop was founded in 2008 at the art department of the Priboj Homeland Museum with the aim of contributing to the education of the young generation within the Museum’s educational and pedagogical role. The primary area in working with children is art through all known and available techniques. The workshop is designed for children of primary school age who have a special interest in this area. Since its foundation, it has justified its international character, because in addition to children from Priboj and other cities in Serbia, children from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, Montenegro, Austria, Sweden, Germany, Canada, and Belgium participated. The work takes place under the professional supervision of painters who pass on their knowledge to them, continuously during the 15 years of holding the workshop, always during the summer school vacation, in the month of August for five working days. Since its inception, this museum program has been financially supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia and the Municipality of Priboj.
